Frequently Asked Questions

Q: We play Football and heard Lacrosse is a great Spring Sport.  Is this true?
A: Absolutely.  Football is huge and we love it too.  Lacrosse is a fast paced game that is a great compliment to all other sports: football, basketball, hockey, soccer, etc.  Lacrosse in the spring is great conditioning for the upcoming football season.

Q: What are the age divisions?
A: Kindergarten/1st and 2nd Grade, 3rd/4th Grade, 5th/6th Grade, 7th/8th Grade and High School.

Q: Our son/daughter is small...can they still play?
A: Anyone can play lacrosse–big or the small. The game requires and rewards coordination and agility, not brawn. Quickness and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse.

Q:  How long is the season?
A: The season runs from February thru May (Optional tournaments are in June)

Q: When is registration?
A: We will set rates and open registration for the for the 2023 spring season in Oct/Nov 2022.

Q: Can Girls play?
A: Of course! Our Youth program is Co-ed.  An alternate option is to play girls lacrosse in Snohomish or neighboring communities.

Q: What about play time?
A: Everyone plays in youth. Because of the speed of play all kids get game time.

Q: What equipment is needed?
A:
All players will need to have the following lacrosse equipment:
helmet
shoulder pads
elbow pads
gloves (black for high school)
lacrosse stick
mouthguard
protective cup
cleats

**Per WHSBLA rules, High School teams must have matching gear.  HS players gear (specifically gloves) must be primarily black.  To help curb costs we have designed a headwrap that can go on existing helmets and meet the criteria of having matching helmets.

Q: What does gear cost?
A: Gear prices vary as there are different options.  Gear will last for multiple seasons too.  A new beginning set can be purchased for $160 and up.  New gear can be purchased at  Lacrosse Wolf in Bellevue and Dick's Sporting Goods in Issaquah.  There are many online retailers for lacrosse equipment.  Used equipment is another option and stores Like Play It Again Sports in Lynnwood are a place to start.  Contact us with any questions and we will gladly help you.  Note:  High School players have to have some specific equipment due to league rules.  The High School directors can help in that area.
